Volvo Will Speak a More Polished Design Language for 2014

We at Jaffarian Volvo feel that new Volvo models already display high-standards of luxury and performance. However, we also admire the automaker's strive to push itself to the next level. Beginning for the 2014 model year, Volvo will instate a more "polished" design language and power vehicles with more fuel-efficient engines.

If you follow our Jaffarian Volvo blog, then you're probably familiar with the engine swap. For those who haven't yet heard, the premium-segment automaker will eighty-six six-and eight-cylinder engines and serve up lighter, smaller fours instead. Carried out on the new SPA platform, these changes will simultaneously lower fuel-economy while raising "neck-snapping"1 performance. The lighter engines will also signify a changing trend within the luxury segment, atop which Volvo hopes to sit.

Giving us a more specific peek into the automaker's future, CEO Stefan Jacoby says, "A diesel plug-in hybrid in development will achieve an EPA rating of 123 mpg and have 440 pounds-feet of torque." He also reveals that the solely battery-powered mode will see a drive range of 30 miles. Brand followers will get a full look at the technology during the Detroit Auto Show this coming January 2012.

To keep informed on the latest Volvo developments, including the new design platform, Jaffarian Volvo encourages you to stay tuned-in to our blog. After all, every one of our Volvo experts is dedicated to sharing as much industry knowledge as possible. That's why we invite you to contact us online or engage in discussion in person at 600 River Street Haverhill, MA 01832.
