Volvo Says V40 is a No-Go in the U.S.

Normally, Jaffarian Volvo in Haverhill, MA serves to announce the arrival of new Volvo models. Right now, however, we're here to tell you that the Volvo V40 will not be coming to the United States. Sound a little depressing? Perhaps. But if you can believe it, the "un-arrival" of the V40 actually signifies a positive thing and we'd like to articulate why.

Teaser images of the Volvo V40 indicate that the model will come in the form of a small wagon or large hatchback. Being the attentive automaker that it is, Volvo has paid close attention to the American market and noticed that these body types simply don't sell as well. This is due to the fact that U.S. consumers largely flock towards crossovers. Taking this trend into consideration, company officials have decided that it just isn't smart to introduce a model into an area in which its chances of doing well are slim.

We don't know about you, but Jaffarian Volvo is glad that Volvo knows its consumers enough to recognize what they do and don't want. And while we certainly get jazzed about the release of any Volvo model, we understand that some vehicles just aren't meant to drive our roads.

One model that does appear to be hitting the streets of Haverhill and beyond in the future is the upcoming, already tested Volvo XC40. As a revamped crossover joining the likes of the current XC60, we think the model has the chance to do extremely well. When more word regarding this compact crossover arrives, Jaffarian Volvo will be sure to let you know. For now, contact us online if you think of any questions that need answering.
